TİKA Supports Preschool Education in Mongolia

During his working visit to Mongolia, TİKA’s Vice President Dr. Ümit Naci Yorulmaz attended the opening ceremony of the 10th Sum Kindergarten in Ölgii District, which was built and equipped by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Yorulmaz stated that children, who are our future, are in safe hands in the kindergarten built by TİKA. Yorulmaz noted that TİKA has built kindergartens in several regions in Mongolia to contribute to eliminating the kindergarten problem and providing quality education. He stressed that children are the guarantors of the future of the friendly relations between Türkiye and Mongolia, which are already two friendly countries. Yorulmaz added that TİKA would continue to carry out projects and activities in Bayan-Ölgii.

Governor of Bayan-Ölgii delivered a speech at the ceremony and said that TİKA has always supported Bayan-Ölgii Province and that they were grateful for this support. He thanked TİKA and the Turkish people on behalf of the people of Bayan-Ölgii.

Asemgul Kulsherkhan, Principal of the Kindergarten, stated that there was a need for kindergartens in Bayan-Ölgii Province due to population growth and that nearly 300 preschool children are unable to use preschool education services in the 10th Sum. Kulsherkhan thanked TİKA for creating a good learning environment for children with the project.

60 percent of preschool children are unable to use preschool education services in Ölgii District, Bayan-Ölgii Province. The rest are unable to access these services due to the lack of kindergartens. Therefore, TİKA built a kindergarten in Bayan-Ölgii Province and equipped it with the necessary materials and equipment in order to contribute to eliminating the kindergarten capacity problem, one of the biggest problems in education across Mongolia; creating a suitable learning environment for children; and offering widespread preschool education services in rural areas.
